Perhaps partially thanks to positive reactions to the Miami Heat's "Vice" City Edition uniforms, Nike seems to be resurrecting the flashy "South Beach" color scheme on some of its most popular silhouettes. Along with an upcoming Air Max 98, the Swoosh will also be dropping an Air Max 97 dressed up in the loud teal and pink tones.
This pair sports a white leather upper contrasted with bright hits of hot pink leather and teal mesh across the 97's signature paneling. Teal is also used on the tongue, inner lining, laces, Air Max unit, and heel tab that sports the usual "Air Max" script in white. Embroidered hot pink Swooshes can be seen on the tongue and side panel as well.
Look for the summer-ready "South Beach" Air Max 97 to hit Nike SNKRS and other select retailers slightly ahead of its Air Max 98 counterpart on Monday, April 2 for $160.
