These are some of my all-time superstar favorite recipes, my arsenal of personal comfort foods. These are the recipes that have gotten me through colds, flu and chemo, helped me to celebrate my birthdays (since cancer I love doing this) or that just make great, homey dinners for friends. I don’t have a lot of time weekdays, so I like to keep things easy and versatile in the kitchen. The recipes reflect this. The pressure-cooker risotto that is the basic recipe behind the delicious Mushroom Risotto, has revolutionized my idea of what constitutes a fast weeknight dinner, while the Quick Tomato Sauce and the Almond Poundcake, are basics from which literally hundreds of everyday variations can be made; an endless assortment of pastas from the sauce, while the cake, delicious in its own right, can lend itself to all kinds of yummy quick desserts when I have people over, like upside-down cakes. In any event, this is just the tip of the iceberg for me. I’ll need another page for all my favorite veggies! Anyway, I hope you’ll enjoy these as much as I do!
