The Brown Bag lunch is one of the best money savers there is, not to mention a health saver. We are based in New York City, and come lunchtime, it’s all too tempting to run out and grab one of the huge assortment of lunch possibilities to be found around the CFYL office. We literally have every cuisine you could imagine on the menu. But not all of it is good: the portions are huge, there’s too much salt and sugar in most choices, while some of it is downright junk. All of it is expensive, and after a while it gets old. You start to crave a lunch that’s simple, tasty and homemade. Enter the Brown Bag. You can repurpose leftovers from dinner the night before, or put toasts together to make a yummy sandwich. Pack a hard boiled egg for some protein if you’re looking for that, or build a quesadilla or pita pizza to melt in the office toaster oven. Take a piece of fruit with you too. So many possibilities! And don’t eat at your desk. Ever. Your mind needs feeding too. If it’s a nice day go outside. Enjoy both the day and your lunch as you take a well earned breather from your work. Enjoy!
