Cancer can be very isolating. When you feel unwell and have zero energy, being sociable can be hard. And for those in chemotherapy with haywire tastebuds, or compromised immunes, the rules about what you can or can’t do, can or can’t eat can make a person feel as if their life isn’t their own. Looking through those long lists of ‘no’ are worrying for patients’ caregivers and families too. Should I make something special? Here at Cook for Your Life we say no. Join us in focussing on what’s possible rather than what’s not, in thinking about meals and foods to enjoy and share with friends and family, meals full of comfort and wonderful flavor, family food, not sad, sick food. It’s important to break bread with those who love us. This is true even when cancer shows its face. Eat to live and live to eat. You don’t have to choose.
