July 4th is around the corner and it’s time to get outside and celebrate summer with friends and family. July 4th also means BBQ, and we’re going to be cooking up some of our favorite grilling fare, with a healthy spin of course. We’ll be noshing on juicy chicken burgers and tasty mushroom burgers, swapping out fat-laden potato salad for an equally rich tasting version made with Greek yogurt, and our plates will be laden with a ton of low-cal veggie side ideas to get those cancer fighting 5 servings of fruits and veggies a day,even at a BBQ! And when we need a sweet cooling treat (who doesn’t?), we’ll be slurping on healthy homemade shaved ice made with fresh fruit. Sound good? It is. These taste tested and taste bud-approved recipes make for a healthy holiday celebration that doesn’t give up flavor for good health, you get a twofer, so go for it.
