Not so very long ago healthy cancer survivorship seemed an elusive goal to many patients, but with improvements in cancer treatment, many more of us now reach this watershed moment. Our lifestyles can make a difference in keeping this precious survivorship as healthy as possible. We need to keep moving, to exercise in some form 30 minutes a day and we also need to make sure our diets are rich in cancer fighting foods, particularly in whole grains, legumes, nuts, lean protein, healthy fats and most of all in fresh fruits and vegetables, ideally five servings a day. All fruits and veggies have health benefits, but the family of cruciferous vegetables are king in this respect, which is why recipes for kale, cabbage, cauliflower have such a strong representation. We’ve also included recipes that use antioxidant spices like turmeric. Basically everything here is a good choice to promote healthy cancer survivorship, so enjoy!
