ginger - cook for your life- anti cancer recipes

Ginger Recipes

Often found in Asian dishes, ginger has a distinctive flavor that can add a hint of sweetness and spice to any recipe, making it one of our favorite additions. Not only is it delicious, ginger has long been used for its health benefits. It is said to be a natural way to cure nausea. The American Cancer Society also report that laboratory studies have shown ginger may help slow tumor growth in animals, although these effects have not been proven in humans.  When buying ginger select a piece that is firm and heavy with unbroken skin, avoiding pieces with wrinkled or shriveled skin. If you don’t want to buy a whole “hand” most markets sell by the pound, so just break off a piece of your desired size.
To store ginger, wrap fresh pieces with plastic wrap and keep refrigerated for up to three weeks.
