Gretchen Gruender MS, RDN, CSO is a registered dietitian and food enthusiast with over 20 years of experience working with individuals and groups in the clinical setting. As a certified specialist in oncology nutrition, she has dedicated her career to improving the lives of cancer patients and survivors through personalized nutrition guidance.

With a strong commitment to evidence-based practices, she co-authored the chapter on Gynecological Cancers for the Oncology Nutrition for Clinical Practice, Second Edition. Gretchen is a frequent speaker to cancer survivorship groups. She has actively participated in professional associations including the Oncology Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Washington State Dietetic Association and The Center for Mindful Eating. 

As the nutrition editor and advisor for Cook for Your Life, Gretchen contributes to up-to-date nutrition content.  Additionally, she consults with the Clearity Foundation and has taught classes at Cancer Lifeline. She is the owner of Integrating Nutrition, a private practice nutrition group.

Gretchen’s love for food stems from her childhood visiting her grandparents farm and later training in kitchens while in college. Prior to graduate school, she travelled and lived abroad where she learned about different food cultures. Moving to the Seattle area to complete her Master of Science in Nutrition from Bastyr University, she stayed to enjoy all the beauty the Pacific Northwest offers with her family and two dogs.
