Hello! This is Sam Myers and I am a certified exercise physiologist of the Cook & Move For Your Life Study. In my spare time I enjoy hiking with my husband and chihuahua mix, Rocky. In this newsletter, you’ll learn about ways to be active that are also fun. Enjoy!
Cook & Move For Your Life News #11
Being Active with Family and Friends
For a fun activity, ask a friend or family member join you while you exercise – you may be surprised at how much fun you have!
For example, grab a friend or a family member and walk through a nearby park. Set a time and place so you both don’t forget!
Suggest a ‘country’ or ‘park’ date to explore a new area of the city with a family member or friend. [ADAPT SENTENCE TO REFLECT LOCAL RESOURCES] Look in different stores, take a walk around Central Park, or take a walk across a bridge.

Instead of watching children or grandchildren play… join them! Create a bonding experience – and be more active at the same time.
Try a new dance class! Go to a free class in the town or play a dance video online. Invite your children, grandchildren, friends, partner, even your pet! Grab a dance partner and get moving.
