Benefits of Being Physically Active
Throughout the day, there are specific times when we can increase our physical activity:
- Housework and caring for family – such as vacuuming, sweeping, and caring for family members and pets, like carrying small children
- Recreational and leisure-time physical activity – such as going to a gym, doing an exercise video, or walking around the block or to a park
- Transportation – such as walking to the store or walking instead of taking the subway
Did you know? Being physically active can help you:
- Control your weight
- Feel more confident about your health
- Manage stress and reduce tension
- Be happier and have an overall more positive outlook
- Sleep better
- Have better health overall
- Reduce the chance of getting cancer again
