In season: Peppers are easy to find year-round, but peak during the summer.
How to buy: Choose peppers that are firm and have taut, unwrinkled skin. The best peppers will feel heavy for its size. Peppers are the the Environmental Working Group’s “Dirty Dozen” list of pesticide affected foods, so buy organic if possible.
Storage: Keep peppers in the crisper for up to five days.
