Cinnamon has been recognized as a powerful spice for ages. It’s full of antioxidants, it boasts anti-inflammatory properties, it can improve blood sugar and insulin sensitivity and may even be protective against neurodegenerative diseases. With all these properties, you may feel like adding it to everything! Of all the sweet and savory dishes that cinnamon can be used in, one of our favorites is ice cream. The warmth added by cinnamon is perfect if you hate to give up ice cream during the colder months. Just whip together heavy cream, powdered sugar, cinnamon and vanilla then let it sit in the freezer until you’re ready to serve.
1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla
to stiff peaks.
2. Place in freezer for at least four hours or overnight. Serve.
