The sweet spices in this smoothie really do make it taste just like apple pie, and the thick, rich Greek yogurt makes it feel very “a la mode”. Quick and easy to make, you can...

  • ½ cup applesauce
  • ¾ cup very cold plain Greek yogurt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger (see Chef Tips)
  • Pinch allspice
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup, or to taste
  • 3 tablespoons apple juice or water, as needed

Chef Tips

If either your mouth or throat is very sore, just add a pinch of ground ginger instead of ¼ teaspoon and see how it goes. The recipe will probably be fine as written, but everyone is different, and this smoothie is tasty enough to be worth finding out what works for you.
