Ingredients

  • 2 cups strawberries, washed and hulled, or 1 (10 ounce) bag frozen strawberries
  • 2 teaspoons sugar, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon water

Directions

  1. Place the strawberries in a microwave-safe ceramic or Pyrex bowl and sprinkle with the sugar and water. Cover with a ceramic plate and cook at high power for 2 minutes (or 3 minutes if using frozen berries).
  2. Remove from the microwave and uncover carefully, as there will be steam. Stir the fruit to mix. Cover with the plate again and return to the microwave. Cook at high power for 1 minute more, then leave it covered in the microwave to steam for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve immediately or refrigerate for later use.
