Smoothies can either be a great meal replacement, or be something nutritious to sip on when treatment has left you less than hungry. This delicious smoothie is not only vegan, it is choc-full of antioxidants and protein to help your recovery.
- Add flax seeds to a blender. Blend the seeds until they form a powder/paste.
- Add the blueberries, tofu, agave, and almond milk to the blender and puree until all of the ingredients are combined, about 2 minutes.
- 4 tablespoons flax seeds
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- ½ cup silken tofu
- 1 cup almond milk
Ann's Tips and Tricks
If your blender isn’t very powerful, in Step 1 start blending the flax seeds and gradually adding ¼ cup of the almond milk to help them blend into a fine puree. Go to step 2 adding the rest of the almond milk and the other ingredients.
If you want to lighten the texture up, blend a little crushed ice into it at the end
