It’s time to give you the 2017 CFYL staff favorite recipes, our top cooking picks. Say it as shouldn’t, our recipes are really good. Our fabulous staff cook from the site all the time, making anything from Holiday dinners and healthier desserts, to deliciously easy and quick weeknight meals. When we asked everyone to give us a list of their favorite Cook for Your Life recipes, we ended up with too many to share with you on a single menu , so we took each person’s top picks for you to try. Here are some of them, and some of their comments.
Letwine, our wonderful admin on Egyptian Yellow Lentil Soup: “I love lentils and this adds an extra kick to your usual lentil soup. If you make a big batch, it will last you a while. Yay for those who need to stop eating out!” Annette, our Social Media Director is into Broccoli Almond Soup, while Chelsea our Recipe editor is a fan of Fennel and Tomato Gratin for practical reasons: “I made this for my dad after his heart surgery. He was able to eat it all week and he loved it and was able to keep it down plus it didn’t affect any of the blood thinner medications he was on at the time a real winner.” Linda, who manages our Marketing and Communications was concentrating on the Holidays and finds our Celery Root and Potato Souffle “is a delicious change from traditional potato dishes.” Carolina, our nutrition intern who picked Chicken Chorizo Soup because it is “Super simple to make, brings comfort reminding me of my mom’s cooking, it is bursting with flavor! Can’t argue with that. Elaine our Assistant Blog Editor is “making great pots of Pasta e Fagioli” now she’s back home in Ireland. Victoria our video maven learned how to make deliciously easy Baked Apples with Rosemary and Honey while she was shooting cooking videos with me, and now this dish is a favorite with her family. Ayleen, who manages our Spanish website loves our lighter, yet totally delicious Coconut Flan. A taste of home with fewer calories. When it comes to our site, it really is all good all the time!
