Eat What You Can: Winter

When I went to my first chemo, I asked one of the oncology nurses what I should eat during treatment. I was expecting her to give some detailed advice on healthy food and nutrition, instead her answer was short. “ Eat what you can”. I didn’t really get it until the queasy side effects and the numbing fatigue set in later that night. Sometimes any calorie is a good calorie. I realized that it was the comforting, starchy, cozy and sweet foods that were the most appealing when I felt terrible. Eat what you can and feel better.
